The Costa Blanca is a beautiful coastline in south-eastern Spain with an outstanding climate averaging 20 degrees and over 300 days of sunshine. Miles of fine sandy beaches and countless small, quiet and beautiful bays offer perfect conditions for beach guests in summer. During the rest of the year, golfers, hikers and those seeking peace and quiet enjoy their very own paradise - with over 60 golf courses and several hundred kilometres of hiking trails. The complete tranquillity away from the beaches and cities is a blessing for the soul of those seeking peace and quiet. For variety and action, there are many interesting towns and cities with colourful markets and winding alleys for strolling and wandering. The region's "fiestas" are also notorious - the Spaniards hardly miss an opportunity to celebrate here.
Alicante is the "centre" of the Costa Blanca and lies directly on the Mediterranean Sea. The capital of the province of the same name is especially known for its wide, long and well-kept beaches. Many of them are awarded the Blue Flag of the European Union year after year - such as San Juan, La Almadraba, Cabo de la Huerta, Albufereta, El Postiguet and Urbanova. Of course, water sports fans don't miss out. Renting boats or jet skis, sailing, snorkelling, diving, surfing, fishing and water skiing is possible all year round. However, a nice beach holiday is by no means all that Alicante has to offer. The beautiful old town Barrio de la Santa Cruz with its narrow streets and colourful houses, museums, cultural centres, monuments and historic buildings bear witness to the port city's eventful history - more than 1,000 mostly well-attended restaurants and bars as well as the pulsating nightlife also show today's joie de vivre of the Alcanteans. Everything can be reached and experienced on foot from the city centre. The comfortable direct flight offer to over 100 European destinations is extremely extensive at any time of the year. The private airport of Alicante, which is only used occasionally, is only 3 minutes by car from Villa Maria and is perfect for those who travel by private chartered plane. I will be happy to put you in touch with our private jet partner if required.
In Muchamiel (Valenciano: Mutxamel) the holiday guests of Villa Maria will not only find all shops for daily needs, such as supermarket, baker and butcher, but also several cafes, authentic cervezerias and tapas bars with excellent typical food as well as various restaurants... In the old town, narrow streets are lined with one- and two-storey houses with colourful façades, lovingly decorated by the owners with ceramic tiles with images of saints, small scenes from daily life and small façade altars. By the way: Perhaps the best-known Spanish and internationally popular tomato variety "Mutxamel" / "Muchamiel" (lots of honey) comes from here. The delicate extra sweet beef tomatoes can weigh up to 1kg.
Alicante also has one of the largest airports in Spain and offers convenient direct flights to over 100 European destinations, even in winter:

The airports of Murcia (approx. 100 km) and Valencia (approx. 180 km) are also possible alternatives.
